Garner Woman Dies; Funeral Will Be Friday

Garner - Funeral services for Hortense Walker, 79. will be held at the Bohn Funeral Home in Garner at 1 p.m. Friday and at the First Methodist Church in Garner at 1:30. The Rev. Carl J. Mohr of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church will be in charge of the service. Interment will be in the family lot in Concord Cemetery at Garner. Mrs. Walker died at a nursing home in Clear Lake early Wednesday.

Hortense Fenninger, the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Fenninger, was born on March 27, 1877, at Garner and lived her entire life in the Garner community. In 1909 she was married to Hiram Walker. The couple lived on a farm east of Garner for many years. The past three years she has been living with her brother Elijah Fenninger until recently when she went to live at a nursing home in Clear Lake.

Her husband, three sisters and one brother preceded her in death. She is survived by one brother, Elijah Fenninger.
