Garner Pioneer Resident Dies
Mrs. William Strate, 78, Is Survived by Five Children

Garner, July 12 - Mrs. William Strate, 78, who died Thursday evening, had been in failing health the past year. Funeral services have been arranged for 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Garner M. E. church.

Mrs. Strate was united in marriage to William Strate, Dec. 27, 1876 in Jo Davies county, Ill. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary four years ago. They moved from Illinois to Floyd county, near Rockford where they lived 20 years. About 15 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Strate purchased a home in the southwest part of Garner and retired.

She is survived by her husband, four sons and one adopted daughter, Mrs. Paul Gast. The sons are George of Gordonville, Minn, John of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Charles, who lives on a farm at Rockford and Roy, mail carrier on route 5. Funeral services will be held by the Rev. Charles H. Van Meter. Burial will be in Concord cemetery.
