Carl O. Roe dies at Garner

Funeral services for Carl O. Roe, 93, former Garner postmaster, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist Church in Garner.

Mr. Roe, who was postmaster from 1940 until 1955, died Wednesday at a Garner retirement home. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Garner, with the Rev. Wallace Stark officiating. The Bohn Funeral Home, Garner, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Roe also operated drug stores in Wesley, Garner and Britt for 55 years. He was a Mason and member of the Garner IOOF Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie, Garner; a daughter, Thelma Stille, Clear Lake; a son, Don, Garner; two brothers, Ove and Albert, both of Waukon; a sister, Ruth Hagen, Waukon; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
