Services Held For Youth, 13

Herman Markworth Dies in Hospital Following a Major Operation

Britt - Funeral services were held here Monday for Herman Leroy Markworth, 13, who died Friday in a Mason City hospital.

The youth was a freshman in the Britt high school. He died following an operation for a ruptured appendix. Services were held at the home and in the First Lutheran church here.

The Rev. J. H. Kolberg officiated and the church choir sang. Fred Missal sang a solo and pallbearers were classmates and neighborhood friends. The American Legion post furnished automobiles.

Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Markworth and four sisters, Goldie, Mary Ann, Betty Lou and Ida Louise.

The Boughton Funeral home was in charge
