Last Rites Held
Corwith - Funeral services for Fred Kirchgatter, 79, were held Monday at the Lutheran church at Renwick. He died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ernest Kramer, at Britt. Mr. Kirchgatter had been in good health and had spent the past 4 weeks at the home of his daughter. Death was due to a heart attack.
Besides the daughter, he leaves two sons, Walter and Paul Kirchgatter, both of Corwith.

Fred Kirchgatter Passed Away Last Thursday
Fred Kirchgatter, 79, passed away at Britt on Thursday after a short illness. Mr. Kirchgatter was one of the pioneer farmers of this community, moving here in 1884.
Obituary
Adolph Fritz Kirchgatter was born near Grafton on Nov. 1, 1870, and passed away at Britt on August 3, 1950 at the age of 79 years, 8 months, and 28 days.
At the age of 13 years, he moved to a farm southeast of Corwith and had lived there ever since. On March 12, 1898, he was united in marriage to Martha Schaffelman. Two sons and one daughter were born to this union. They survive their parents and are: Paul and Walter of Corwith, and Mrs. Ernest Cramer of Britt. He is also survived by one brother, August, of Nora Springs. Mrs. Kirchgatter preceded her husband in death in 1946.
He had been baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church in the early years of his life. Having united with the St. Paul Lutheran congregation, Renwick, he was a faithful member at the time of his death. He attended both the Bible class and worship services regularly, having been present for the last time only several weeks before his death.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 7 from St. Paul Lutheran church, Renwick. The Rev. R. E. Langholz, pastor of the church was in charge. Pallbearers were: Lester Krauss, George Krauss, Elmer Krauss, Fred Walk, William Pogge, and Herman Nissen. Mixed quartet sang two hymns, “My Faith Looks Up to Thee,” and “Rock of Ages.” Burial was made at the Magor township cemetery.
