Young Woman, 21 Of Woden Killed In Car Crash

Woden: Miss Wilma Isebrand, 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Isebrand of Woden, died at a Mason City hospital Sunday evening from injuries suffered in an accident at 12:30 Sunday morning when she was returning home.

The accident occurred on a gravel road two miles south of Woden when the car she was driving went into a ditch and struck a driveway culvert. She never regained consciousness. She was 21 years of age. The other occupant of the car, Clarence Peterson of Kanawha, escaped with minor injuries. His car, a 1949 Ford, was badly damaged.

Miss Isebrand taught school near Forest City for two years after attending Waldorf College. She moved to Woden with her parents in December, 1949, and since had been employed in her father's hardware store.

Surviving are her parents and a younger brother and sister, Donald 11 and Sharon 7. Also her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Dirksen of Woden and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Isebrand of Titonka.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at the Isebrand home at 1 o'clock followed with services at the Woden Presbyterian church with the Rev. H. Kruse of Woodbine, former pastor of the church, officiating.

Burial will be in the Bingham Twp. Cemetery.
