Services Held At Woden For George Eden, 63
George C. Eden, 63, prominent farmer who resided southwest of Woden, died early Sunday morning at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, following an illness of seven weeks. Death was due to a heart condition. The remains were taken to the Boughton Funeral Home and prepared for burial.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday of this week from the Presbyterian church at Woden with the Rev. Simon F. Wenger in charge. Burial will be made in the Bingham Township cemetery south of Woden.
George C, Eden was born at Woden, Iowa, May 18, 1891, a son to Claus and Florina Peters-Eden. He attended the schools of Bingham township where he grew to manhood.
On February 27, 1924, Mr. Eden was united in Marriage to Miss Jennie Bruns, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harm Bruns, the wedding taking place at the home of the bride's parents.
Mr.Bruns was active in church work and served as an elder of the Presbyterian church of Woden. He was a board member of the Woden Creamery, and at the present time was vice-president of the association. He was one of the successful farmers of his community and had farmed for many years one mile southwest of Woden.
Surviving are his wife, Jennie; three sons and three daughters: Calvin, Nette, Harold, Glen, Delores and Della. Also one brother and four sisters: Harm, Mrs. John (Anna) Greenfield and Mrs. John H. (Hulda) Boyken, all of Woden; Carrie, the wife of the Rev. J. M. Strong, Rushville, Nebr, and Martha, the wife of the Rev. Charles Kruse, of Akron, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Mary, who died in infancy, one sister and three brothers.
