ANOTHER PIONEER PASSES AWAY

Mrs. N. P. Rasmussen Dies Last Friday Evening After a Lingering Illness.
A Sufferer From Dropsy.

Interred in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt

Anna, wife of N. P. Rasmussen, died at her home nine miles northwest of Britt on Friday, June 20, 1913, aged 61 years, 6 months and 29 days. She had been a sufferer from dropsy for some time, and this, coupled with valvular heart trouble, was assigned as the cause of death.

Anna Madson was born in Vester Ulsey, Lolland, Denmark, November 22, 1851. She was married to N. P. Rasmussen on December 19, 1875 in Denmark. They came to America in 1880, settling in Hancock, county which has since been their home. Nine children were born to this union, seven boys and two girls, four of whom have preceded their mother to the great beyond. One son died in infancy in Denmark. Two boys and one girl have died in this country and are buried in the Crystal Lake cemetery.

Death to her was not an unwelcome guest for she awaited him and was prepared to meet him, having some years ago accepted Jesus Christ to be her Savoir and guide, "who has conquered death and brought life and immortality to light." With him she went gladly and we believe triumphant.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, a short service being held from the family home, after which the funeral procession moved to the Flat church where the sermons were read. Rev. Chas. Nelson of Britt preached in the Scandinavian language and Rev. A. J. Andrewson, the new Scandinavian minister in Britt, giving a short address in the English language. A quartet rendered several selections. A very large cortege of friends of the deceased and family
accompanied the remains to Britt where interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Rasmussen was known by a large number of people, and nothing but good words can be said for her life in the home and among all her acquaintances. She will be mourned by the community in general, and their sympathy is extended to the members the bereaved family.
