Funeral services held for Willard Thovson

Funeral services for Willard 0. Thovson, 58, were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Salem Lutheran church in Lake Mills. He died suddenly July 23 [1970] in his Lake Mills home.

The Rev. Dennis Hafner officiated and burial was in Madison cemetery in Forest City.

Born Feb. 14, 1912 to Thov and Helena Thovson, he lived all his life in the Fertile-Lake Mills areas. He drove the Mid-land Co-op Service truck for some time before they went into the hardware business in the building where Mrs. Mort Haugen now lives. They lived in the house where Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Jenkins lived before moving to Lake Mills where he was again employed by Midland Co-op.

Survivors include his wife Katie Ver Hoef Thovson, a daughter, Mrs. Don (Janet) Peterson of Aurelia; two sons, Dennis of Berkeley Heights, N. J., and Paul, stationed at Ft. Sheridan, Ill. and three grandchildren. Also surviving are a step-mother, Mrs. Ida Thovson of Forest City and a step-sister, Mrs. Walter Porter of
Marshalltown.

Anderson-Mittelstadt Funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Thelan Elthon and Roger Humphrey were casket bearers from Fertile.
