FOREST CITY — Olai E. Thompson, 59, owner and operator of Twin Oaks Motel here, died Thursday [Jul 1968] at a Mason City hospital.
Born Oct. 14, 1908, in Norway, he was the son of Olaios and Ann Olafson. They came to this country when he was three years old. He was married to Burlette Kittleson Jan. 14, 1934. They farmed until purchasing the motel in 1960.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Duane Thompson, Britt; four daughters, Mrs. Duane (Janice) Williams, Forest City; Mrs. Larry (Kathryn) Peterson, Forest City; Mrs. Darrel (Ellen) Jensen, Elmore, Minn. ; Mrs. Roy (Karolyn) Potter, Forest City; three brothers, Albert, Compton, Calif.; Raymond, Drayton, N .D.; Harold, Emmons, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Ervin (Astrid) Ahrens, Blue Earth, Minn., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Forest City. The Rev. Paul Otto will officiate. Burial will be in Madison Township Cemetery with Olson Funeral Home in charge.
