Archie C. Steiff, retired Hancock farmer, succumbs

Funeral services for Archie C. Steiff, 78, were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at United Methodist church with the Rev. Max E. Goldman officiating. Burial was made in Madison township cemetery.

Mr. Steiff, a resident of Forest City since his retirement in 1949 from a Hancock county farm, died last Wednesday [May 1969] at Mercy hospital, Mason City, where he had been a patient for one week.

He was born Nov. 26, 1890, in Madison township, the son, of Fredrick and Caroline Seibert Steiff. He was married April 26, 1917, to Augusta Tiemeier at Forest City. She and two sons. Clarence and Raymond, both of Forest City, survive. There are three grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother, Fred Steiff, Garner, and a sister, Mrs. Bula Rollene, Dows. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cathryn; a brother, Semon Steiff; and two sisters, Paulina Thomas and Laura Peterson.
