Clayton Lackore

HAYFIELD Clayton Lackore, 75, of Hayfield, died Wednesday (Aug. 13, 1986) at a Forest City nursing home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, Miller, with the Rev. Philip Peters officiating. Burial, will be in the Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City.

Visitation is after 1 p.m. today at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

Mr. Lackore was born Dec. 19, 1910, at Hayfield to Charles and Mathilda (Johnson) Lackore. He graduated from Hayfield High School in 1930 and did vegetable farming near Hayfield.

On Oct. 14, 1933, he was married to Ethel Grell at Clear Lake. They farmed in the Hayfield area until 1974 when they retired from active farming and moved into Hayfield. He had served as a director on the Hayfield School Board for several years.

Mr. Lackore had been a resident of a Forest City nursing home for the past 14 months.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel; one daughter, Roberta Lackore, Decorah; one son, Eugene, Garner; three sisters, Pearl Lackore, Newton, Kan.; Mrs. Sylvia Sorenson and Mrs. John (Mabel) Kester, both of Forest City: one brother, Norman of Forest City; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
