Ida Mae Bock, 82, of Klemme, died on Friday, January 18, 2002, at the Westview Care Center, Britt.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 21, at the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme, with Pastor Donna Buckman officiating.
Music was provided by organist, Diane Stadtlander who accompanied soloist, Lance Arnold. Ushers were Richard Baack and Terry Woiwood.Casket bearers were Andrew Jones, Eric Daniel, Mike Carlson, Justin Rule, Jay Duncan and Verlyn Kaduce. Interment was in the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme. The Cataldo Funeral Home, Garner, was in charge of the arrangements.
Ida Mae Bock, the daughter of William and Anna (Willig) Bessman, was born on May 9, 1919, on a farm near Popejoy. She attended rural school near Popejoy.
On February 3, 1942, she was united in marriage to Mitchell John Bock at the United Church of Christ in Alden. They lived east of Klemme where they farmed and raised their family. The couple retired from farming in 1981 and moved into Klemme. In November of 2000, they moved to the Westview Care Center in Britt.
Mrs. Bock enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends, crocheting, being a mom and, especially, a grandma. She was an active member of the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ where she belonged to the Women's Fellowship, Dorcas Circle and the Adult Fellowship.She also taught Sunday School, Bible School and was a 4-H Leader. She was honored at Governor Brandstad's Sixth Annual Recognition Conference for her service at the Klemme Elementary School, where for six years, she volunteered time to help
with the kindergarten, first and second grades as well as in the library.Survivors include her four children, Jim Bock and his wife, Barbara of Fairmont, Minnesota, Joyce Lee and her husband, Dennis of Dayton, Ohio, Jo
Duncan and her husband, Royle of Alden and Jean McBreen and her husband, Steven of Ames; eight grandchildren, Laura Bock-Carlson, Susan Bock, Michelle Daniel, Anne Jones, Bethany and Jay Duncan and Justin and Blakely Rule; two
great-grandchildren, Eleanor Jones and Harper Daniel; a sister, Margaret Meyer and her husband, Ervin of Latimer; a brother, Harry Bessman of Iowa
Falls; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell on February 4, 2001; and a grandson, Nathaniel Mitchell Rule.
