Pastor Robert BronsonNicholas Michael Pinneke, the son of Michael and Rhonda (Van Oort) Pinneke, was born March 27, 1983 at Britt. He attended school in Garner and graduated from Gamer-Hayfield High School in 2002. During high school Nick was active in football, basketball, track, National Honor Society, Que Pasa Club, band and vocal. He was a member of the 2001 Class 2-A state qualifying football team, the 2002 conference champion basketball and track teams along with the
2002 state runner-up basketball team and the 2002 state track team. Nick was a state track qualifier in five events as a senior, was a two-time conference champion in the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash his senior year, and was in the 4 x 100 relay team that set a new school record. Nick loved his family, was an avid Hawkeye and Buffalo Bills fan and enjoyed playing church league softball in the summer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.Nick is survived by his parents, Rhonda and Ken Krause of Garner; two sisters, Christine and Anna Pinneke at home; his maternal grandparents, Homer and June VanOort of Garner; paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Merna Pinneke of Garner; step-grandmother, Rita Krause of Kingsley; seven aunts and uncles and their spouses; eighteen cousins; and a very special friend, Shelby Hayes of Garner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael, June 10, 1991; and two uncles, Jim Pinneke and Mike

Nicholas M. Pinneke, 19, of Garner died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.
His funeral was held Friday, July 19, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Schueller officiated. Pat Doble was the lector. Music was provided by organist, Carolyn Kumsher who accompanied the church choir and soloist, Mary Chambers. Ushers were Seth Young and James Merriam.
Honorary bearers were Shelby Hayes, Nikki Clement, Barb Corrick, Amanda Howie and Stacy Greiman. Casket bearers were Kirk Pedersen, Kaleb Pergande, Brad Kozisek, Jay East, Jess East, Shawn Larkin, Mike Meyering and Michael Priebe.
Interment was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery. The Cataldo Funeral Home of Garner was in charge of the arrangements.
