Mrs. LaVon Armeta Montgomery, the daughter of Henry and Ella (Ploeger) Franken was born October 16, 1930 at Odebolt, lowa. She attended school at Odebolt, "Hayes School" in Storm Lake and in 1948 graduated from Schaller High School She obtained her elementary teaching certificate after attending the University of Iowa at Iowa City and the University of Northern Iowa at Cedar Falls. She taught school at Klemme for eleven years and at Garner for nine years. July 20, 1952 she was married to H.W. "Bud" Montgomery at Schaller. They lived at Klemme until 1957 when they moved to Garner.

She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Zion Woman's Fellowship and the American Political Items Collector's Club.

She is survived by her husband, H.W. "Bud" Montgomery; her daughter, Ann Janette Montgomery both of Garner; her parents, Henry & Ella Franken of Schaller; a brother, Dale Franken and his wife, Phyllis of Odebolt and several nieces and nephews.
