Bonnie Roberta Young, the daughter of Ivan and Albert, H. (Bartleson) Iverson, was born June 30, 1937 at Crysta Lake. She attended school at Crystal Lake where she graduated from high school in 1954. She then worked for North western Bell as an operator at Mason City and Gamer. Or May 1, 1956 she was married to Elmer F. Young at St Boniface Catholic Church. They lived in Crystal Lake Farmersburg and in 1959 returned to Garner. She went to La'James Cosmetology School and then had her own beauty shop, "Bonnie's Beauty Salon", which she operated for 18 years. She also worked at Flowers by Flattery, Erickson'; Drugstore, in the card section, and substituted at the Garner Hayfield School lunch program. Bonnie also did
volunteer work at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa Admissions department. She enjoyed her family, golfing, playing bridge exercise class and bus trips. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church where she taught Catechism and was active in the church choir and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Garner Wa-Tan-Ye Club. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Elmer of Garner; three children, Pa Young and his wife, Karen and their two children, Kristin, and Kevin of San Diego, CA, Jeff Young and his wife Joyce Maruniak and their son, Noah of San Diego, CA and Valerie Carolus and her husband, Dean and their three children, Brett, Trevor and Taryn of Klemme; a sister, Jackie Schleuger and her husband, Glenn of Britt; and a brother-in. law, Joe Vivalda of Fallbrook, CA. Her parents and a sister Mamie Vivalda preceded her in death.
