Obituary
Mr. William Chris Velau, age 58, passed away at his farm home, in Liberty Township, early
Friday morning, September 23, following long illness.Mr. Velau was born October 17, 1896, in Liberty Township, where he lived all of his life. He
attended the Klemme Public Schools, and then farmed with his parents, until his call to the
service during World War I.On July 1, 1922, he was united in marriage to Lydia HerWald. To this union there were born
three children: Mrs James (Eva) Fatland, of Nora Springs, Iowa; Mrs Don (Kathryn) Alden, and
one son, William, both of Klemme.He is survived by his wife, Lydia, three children, and three grandchildren. Also surviving
are one brother, John, of Klemme, and two sisters: Mrs. Echard Zeidler, of Klemme, and Mrs.
Earl Kahler, of Garner, and many other distant relatives and friends.Casket Bearers
