Obituary
LOIS BEVERLY STILLE was born on the Stille farm two miles west of Klemme on the 23rd day of
November, 1930, the youngest of three children, born to her parents, Lester and Helen
Hartzell Stille.Her childhood years were spent on the farm, where she completed her common school education
in a rural school nearby. She attended the Klemme High School, graduating with a class of
32 in 1948. She attended Waldorf College for one year, and then completed a course of
training in an Airline School at Kansas City.She attended religious instruction, was confirmed and became a member of the Methodist
Church in 1940. Later she taught some of the classes in the Church Bible School. She was
also a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She was employed for a while in the office of the
Ordinance Plant at Burlington, Iowa and then moved to Des Moines, Iowa, where she found
employment as a stenographer in 'he "Out-Patient" division of the Veteran's Administration.She was kind and affectionate to the family at home, and was well liked by her classmates
and the younger set of our community.On Sunday morning, June 7th, her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Hartzell of Des Moines,
called for Lois Stille and Marilyn Ludeke, and this group intended to motor to Cedar Falls
to attend a reunion of the Hartzell family.But, while traveling on Highway 14, near Conrad, Iowa, an accident occurred, which placed
three of their party in the hospital, and abruptly ended the life of Lois Stille.She was proceeded in death by a brother, who died as an infant, and by her father, Lester
Stille, who died in 1952.She reached the age of 22 years, 8 months, and 15 days, and leaves to mourn her passing:
her mother, Mrs. Helen Stille, Klemme; one sister, Ruth, Mrs. Lavon Tue, Clear Lake; one
Grandmother, Mrs. Lydia Hartzell, 91, Cedar Falls, and a host of more distant relatives and
