Obituary
JOHN E. STILLE
Mr. John Stille age 91 died Thursday evening, May 1 at the Methodist hospital in Rochester,
Minnesota, where he had been a patient for the past six days.He was born on September 10, 1877, the son of Henry and Louisa Stille, on the farm west of
Klemme in Liberty township and near the present Liberty Methodist church. As a youth, he
attended rural schools near his home and later was a student at the Charles City college.On April 4, 1902, he was united in marriage to Otillia Koerner at the Herman Stille
residence west of Klemme, and by the Rev. Wm, Koerner. With his wife, he lived and farmed
near Belmond until 1927, when they moved into the home they had built in Klemme. After
moving to town, he continued to work as a carpenter for some time.Surviving is one daughter, Marie, Mrs. Donald Turgeson, of Independence, Iowa, as well as 2
grandsons, John and Brian and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, who died on May 24, 1958, and by three
children who died in infancy. Also by three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Schuldt, Mrs. Elizabeth
Gruetzmacher, and Mrs. Emma Terhufen, and by two brothers, Herman and William.PALLBEARERS
