JOHN NEUBERGER - 1868-1962
John Neuberger was born on October 12. 1868 at Ackley, Iowa, the eldest son of John and Christine Neuberger. He had one brother, Lewis; two half brothers, Philip and Will; two half sisters, Lena and Katie, all have preceded him in death.
On January 22, 1896 he was united in marriage to Marie Jahnke at Klemme. To this union was born nine children, one daughter passed away in infancy.
Surviving are: His wife
Five Sons: Clarence of Klemme, Walter of Ventura, John of Brownsville, Texas, William of Klemme, Merlin of Renwick.
Three Daughters: Mae (Mrs. Walter Blumer) of Klemme, Ruth of Klemme, Fay (Mrs. Asa Gibbs) of Garner.
Twenty Grandchildren, Twenty-Two Great Grandchildren plus a host of other relatives and friends.
John Neuberger was a pioneer of this community, having spent more than 70 years here, 50 years on the old home farm east of Klemme, and the past 20 years in town. He was a good father to his children, a good husband and a good neighbor. With his passing one of the last links in the chain of the old pioneers was broken.
