Olga Jenson, 99, of Crystal Lake dies

Services for Mrs. Olga Jenson, 99, of Crystal Lake who died Saturday at Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the United Methodist Church in Crystal Lake with Rev. Todd Schlitter as officiant. Jeanette Rogness was organist and accompanied the mixed quartet who were A.W. Jeff Rensink, mabel Rensink, Grace Kluver and Tom Rasmuson. Casket bearers were Maynard Johnson, Donald "Red" Cottington, Wilber Peterson, Bill Leerar, Vernal Benson and Elmer Ruby. Burial was in Crystal Township Cemetery at Crystal Lake. visitation was held at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel in Britt.

Mrs. Olga Matilda Jenson, the daughter of Martin and Carrie (Madson) Larson, was born October 31, 1885 at Buffalo Grove near Crystal Lake. After attending the rural schools of Hancock County she went to the "Nora Springs Seminary and business College" at Nora Springs where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in the thompson and Leland areas for several years. June 15, 1910, she was married to Julius Jenson at her parents farm home in the Upper Flat area north of Britt. they moved southwest of Crystal Lake and farmed until her husband's death in January of 1956. In 1959 she moved into Crystal Lake.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and U.M.W. at Crystal Lake.
She is survived by her children, Mrs. Jerry (Mavis) Olin of Spencer, Mrs. Clair (Carol) Siepmann of Bettendorf and Curtis Jensen and his wife, Leona of Crystal Lake; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchhildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius; her son, Richard Jenson; her foster son, Donald Jenson; her parents; her brothers and sisters, Laurice Larson, Willie Larson, Mrs. Mary Nelson, Mrs. Annie Hanson, James Larson and August Larson.
