Roberta Ruth Rownd, the daughter of Robert and Mary Irene (Sheridan) Rownd, was born March 13, 1921 in Britt. She was a graduate of the Britt School system and attended A.I.B. in Des Moines. She taught school in Erin Township. After World War II, she worked in Boston with authoress, Mrs. Curtiss, on the book entitled, "Letters Home." At the thime of her death she was a military secretary at Los Alimitos Naval Air Force Station in Long Beach, California. She was a former member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Britt. Roberta enjoyed traveling, photography, bowling and designing of ceramics and pottery.

She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Arthur (Norma Jean) Young of Columbus, Ohio; an aunt, Mrs. Wm. (Glenne) Spangler of Britt; and uncle, Arthur Sheridan of Waukon; many nieces, nephewes and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Rownd in 1963 and her mother, Mary Irene Rownd in 1973.

Death, March 24, 1977 in Long Beach, California. Burial in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Britt, Iowa
