Memorial Services for Lillie H. Quintus 102 of Garner, who died Tuesday Aug.1, 1995 at Concord Care Center in Garner were held 1:30 p.m., Thursday Aug.3 at the United Presbyterian Church in Garner with Rev. Kevin McDonald as officiant.
Music was provided by Duane Cummings, organist and Lucille Wesson , pianist.
Burial was at the Concord Township Cemetery, Garner, with Cataldo Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There was no visitation.
Memorials were given to the Hancock County Homemaker Health Aide Service or the charity of choice.
Lillie H. Quintus, the daughter of John and Christina (Neidermeier) Goll, was born February 12, 1893 on a farm south of Garner. She attended rural schools in the Liberty Township, Lillie was confirmed at the Peace Reformed Church south of Garner.
Lillie married Ralph Eugene Quintus and they farmed north of Garner for a year and then moved to Garner. Lillie lived her entire life in Garner and she especially enjoyed being of service to her community.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, United Presbyterian Women, Garner Senior Citizens, Grandmother's Club the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Garner Garden Club.
She is survived by her son, Richard Quintus and his wife Margaret of Sequim, WA; her daughter Bernice Burkholderand and her husband, Kenneth of Lakeview, OR; three grandchildren Paul Quintus of Renton, WA., Harriet Burkholder of Seattle, WA.,and Tom Burkholder of Portland, OR., eight great gradnchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents and 16 brothers and sisters, Gottlieb Goll, John Goll, George Goll, Jake Goll, Charles Goll, Ben Goll, Louisa Barz, Christina (Nonnie) Greiman, Fredreka(Reka) Haberkamp, Mary Upmeyer, Bertha Haes, Rose Haes, and four infant brothers.
