I debated whether or not to volunteer my time again to seek out these two new items for you. I previously replied to your two queries for information on William Duffy, Thomas Duffy and Bridget Duffy by researching, locating and then transcribing three lengthy obituaries for you. Usually, a simple reply of "thank you" is a courteous gesture, especially if one wants volunteers to continue to assist with more information.

June 29, 1884 --- April 30, 1979

STRATFORD — Isaac Chally, 94, longtime Stratford resident, died at the Boone County hospital Monday evening. Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist church with the Rev. Dale Kelley officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery north of Stratford. Friends may call at the Hanson -Stark-Welin Funeral home in Stratford Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. when the body will be taken to the church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. William (Marjorie) Thomas of Emmetsburg; three sons, Clifton Chally, Stratford; Glenn Chally, Algona; and Lowell Chally, LaGrande, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, who died in 1976, one daughter who died in April, 1979. three brothers and four sisters.

He was born June 29, 1884, in Leland, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Chally. On June 10, 1908, he married Daisy Alice Milburn at her parents' home at Hook's Point. He engaged in farming until his retirement. He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist church in Stratford.
