Looking for ancestors or descendants of William Henry Hopkins b1838 Springville, Erie Co., NY.

William Henry Hopkins, son of John Hopkins of NY, was in Spragueville, Jackson Co., Iowa in 1860 farming. He enlisted in July 1861 from Spragueville. He married 1864 Kate Moore, adopted daughter of George & Adelia Jane (Horton) Moore of Nevada, Story Co., IA. We think Kate Moore's biological father's surname was Bryant. She was born 1846 Schenectady, NY.

Children of George & Adelia Moore married surnames Barton, Drake & Adylott.

Children of William Henry Hopkins & Kate Moore:

William Bernard Hopkins b1865 Jackson Co., IA m. Katie Allen, daughter of Charles Allen of KY.

Fanny Hopkins b1867 m. Newmars Perry

Harriet Louise Hopkins 1868-1955 m. Jay L. (Linville?) Haddox, had 10 children and lived in Webster City, Hamilton Co., IA. She married 2nd James Humbert, a baker by trade.

Adelia Hopkins b1870 m. William Sharp(1), Thomas Jones(2)

Lillian Hopkins m. Timothy Jerome Shea(1), James Spears(2).
