OBITUARY
Sarah Hanson departed to the world beyond on March 16th, 1913, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 11 days. She was born in Trondhjem, Norway, August 5, 1824, and was united in marriage to Ole Hanson of the same city, December 1844. In 1858 they emigrated to America and settled in Hudson, Wisconsin, where they lived four years and from there they moved to Milwaukee in 1862. Two years later they settled in Hamilton county, Iowa. Her husband died January 21, 1906. Her health has been feeble ever since 1868, when she was taken ill, and from December 1912 until the time of her departure she suffered mor or less pain. She united with the Methodist church in Wisconsin in 1859 and from there she was transferred to the Methodist church of South Marion. She was a devout woman with a strong faith in God. During her suffering she frequently looked forward to the hour of departure and often said, "I long to go home." She is mourned by one son, Olof Hanson, and wife, of Stanhope, seven grandchildren and many relatives and friends. May the Lord comfort them all. The burial service took place last Wednesday at South Marion, Rev. N. Pearson officiating. The address for the occasion was based on the words in Rev. 21:4, "neither shall there be any more pain."
