GRANDSON OF PETER SEXE DIED
George Silas Melgren [sic], whose mother was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sexe, died at Eldora, Iowa, on Sunday, October 27th, death being caused by pneumonia, which followed an attack of influenza. The deceased's home is at Stratford, and he was at Eldora at the time he became ill, being in the federal employ as a member of a valuation gang doing government work. As there was sickness at his home and his folks were under quarantine, they were unable to attend the funeral, the body being brought to Jewell for services. The funeral services were held at the undertaking parlors Tuesday afternoon, at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Norstad, and interment made in Evergreen cemetery. A brother and sister were present at the services, besides local relatives and friends.
George Silas Melgren [sic] was born in Farnhamville, on February 23, 1900, and at the time of his death was 18 years, 8 months and 4 days old. His mother died when the deceased was but six weeks old. His father, H. J. Melgren [sic], survives him. The family moved to Stratford where they have since made their home.
