OBITUARY.

Harriet Lakin born Apr. 4, 1824 died August 24, 1900, age 76 years, 4 mo., 20 days. She was born in Pike county, Pa., with her parents she moved to New York State in 1839, in 1840 she moved to Cain Co. [sic] Ill. In July 1842 she was united marriage to Homer Cochran, to this union twelve children were born, ten boys and two girls. Mr. and Mrs. Cochran with their family moved from Illinois to Lakin's Grove in 1855. Mr. Cochran died June 7 1874. H. W. Edwards and Mrs. Cochran were married Aug. 27, 1875. She leaves a husband, one son and daughter. She was a member of the M. E. church for the past twenty years. The funeral was held Sunday, Aug. 26. The remains were laid to rest in the Ellsworth cemetery. Rev. J. R. Faus officiated in the service.
