Obituary.
MRS. NETTIE A. COCHRAN.Died at her home in Jewell, May 25, 1897, Mrs. Nettie A. Cochran, aged 31 years, 2 months and 23 days, her death having been caused by nervous complications.
Nettie A. Staley was born in Ellsworth township, this county, March 2d, 1866. She was married to Douglas Cochran Oct. 3, 1886. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Staley, south of town, and a sister of Mrs. Omer Johnson, of this city. Several years ago Mr. and Mrs. Cochran moved to Jewell, where they resided until her death. Mrs. Cochran's health had ben poorly for many years, and she was an intense sufferer at time, but not until about eighteen months ago was her symptoms alarming. She gradually, from that time until her death, failed perceptibly. During all her sickness she was a patient sufferer, never complaining of her afflictions. She united with the M. E. church in 1888 and has been a faithful member.
Funeral services were held in the M. E. church last Thursday, Rev. Beardsley officiating, after which the remains were interred in the family lot in Evergreen cemetery. Mrs. Cochran leaves to mourn her loss a husband, father and mother and four sisters, besides a large concourse of friends. The afflicted ones have the deep sympathy of the public during these hours of sadness.
Sleep thy last sleep
Free from care and sorrow,
Rest where none weep,
'Till the eternal morrow,
Though dark waves roll
O'er the silent river,
Thy fainting soul
Jesus can deliver.Life's dream is past:
All is sin and sadness.
Bright at last
Dawns a day of gladness.
Under the sod
Earth receive our treasure
To rest in God
Waiting all his pleasure.Though we may mourn
Those in life the dearest,
They shall return
Jesus when thou appearest.
Soon shall thy voice
Comfort those now weeping,
Bidding rejoice
All in Jesus sleeping.CARD OF THANKS.
We desire to thank our friends who so kindly assisted us during the sickness and death of our beloved wife, daughter and sister. Your many acts of kindness will ever be remembered.DOUGLAS CHOCHRAN,
MR. AND MRS. H. STALEY,
AND SISTERS.
