MRS. ANNA HOLLAND
Mrs. Anna Holland was born Dec. 4, 1852, at Odda, Hardanger, Norway, and passed away Jan. 14, 1939, at Montrose, S. Dak. She reached the high age of 86 years. She was an old resident of Iowa, coming here at the age of 20 years, in 1873.
April 4, 1875, she was united in marriage to Thor Holland. Mr. Holland passed away Feb. 11, 1925. The Holland family made their home on a small farm six miles southwest of Randall. In 1920 they moved to Rutland, S. Dak.
Mrs. Holland became the mother of eight children, of whom three have preceded her in death. Those who survive and mourn a dear Christian mother are Mrs. R. J. Brandvig, who lives on the old homestead, Mrs. Swan Olson, Thomas, Cornelius and Martin, all of Montrose, S. Dak.
Mrs. Holland was a charter member of the Clear Lake and Ellsworth Lake and Ellsworth Lutheran church, located five miles west of Randall. In this church she was an active member for many years.
Funeral services were held from the Brandvig home and the above mentioned church on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1939, with Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiating. Many friends and relatives were present to pay their respect to this noble Christian brother. Interment was made at the Obe cemetery, a little south of the church.
