NORMAN LEROY TEIG

Norman Leroy Teig, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin J. Teig, died at 3:30 o'clock Wednesday of last week at the home of his parents, 3 miles east of Stanhope. His death resulted from pleural pneumonia following a very brief sickness. He was first taken ill Thursday night, April 7th, and his sickness became very serious almost from the first. Two physicians were called and everything possible was done for him but to no avail. Thru the suffering of almost a week he was very patient, never complaining, and remained conscious the most of the time.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon, at one o'clock at the home and two o'clock at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope. The pastor, Rev. Oppedal, officiated, and pall bearers were: Ernest Munson, Burdette Teig, Oran Hanson, Walter Williams, Homer Berven and Dannie Knight. Mrs. Benj. Anderson and Ted Quam sang a duet at the service at the home and two duets at the service at the church. Songs were sung at the church by the choir and at the cemetery by the Clear Lake male octet.

Norman Leroy Teig was born in Story county, Iowa, May 10, 1914, and died April 13, 1932, at the age of 17 years, 11 months and 3 days. He was baptized by Rev. Martin Norstad, and received religious instruction in the Norwegian Lutheran faith and was confirmed by Rev. Hans Oppedal. He was a student in Stanhope high school, and for the past two years he has been driving a Stanhope school bus. He leaves to mourn his death his father, mother, four brothers, Mervin, Everett, Tilford and Wendell; also many good friends and his classmates in school by whom he will be greatly missed. The sorrowing parents and brothers have the deepest sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement. Blessed be his memory.
