MRS HANS NELSON DIED AT JEWELL DEC. 31

Well Known Woman Succumbed to Diabetes and Gall Stones

Mrs. Hans P. Nelson died at her home in Jewell Wednesday noon of last week of diabetes and gall stones. She had been seriously ill for the past month.

Mrs. Nelson [sic] lived with her family northwest of Story City until 10 years ago, when they sold the farm retired to Jewell.

Funeral services were held Saturday at the Federated church in Jewell, with Rev. F. F. Stover officiating. Burial was made in Evergreen cemetery.

Mrs. Nelson, the daughter of Hans and Marie Peterson [sic], was born in Denmark, November 2, 1869. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Hans P. Nelson. She had been ill for several years and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage about a month ago which left her partially paralyzed.

Besides her husband she leaves the following children: Mrs. Anna Omvig of Story City, Mrs. Lenora Sampson of Ames, Mrs. Emma Glaman of Webster City, Mrs. Clara Green of Ames, Mrs. Threna Miller of Jewell, Harry Nelson [sic] of Jewell, Mrs. Julia Skilbred of Blairsburg and Arthur Nelson [sic] of Jewell. Fifteen grandchildren also survive.
