Mrs. Peter J. Hove

Mrs. Peter J. Hove was born in Vik, Sogn, Norway, July 4, 1848. She came to America in 1876 and settled in Hamilton county and has lived in the vicinity of Stanhope ever since. Since the death of her husband in 1926 she ahs been living with her children. She passed away at the home of her son, Peter A. Hove, at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 25 days. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church and at her death was a member of Our Savior's church in Stanhope. In 1877 she was married to Peter J. Hove. To this union six children were born namely: John, Lewis, Lars and Peter A. Hove of Stanhope, Mrs. G. E. Hanson of Watertown, S. D., and Mrs. N. T. Nelson of Rock Island, Ill. She also leaves 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 31, 1930, at 12 o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at Our Savior's church in Stanhope, Rev. Hans Oppedal officiating. Interment was made in Lake Center cemetery. The pall bearers were Sam, Lewis, John and Peter Hove, and Ingolf and Arthur Brekke.
