MRS. CARL SPARBOE

Mrs. Carl Sparboe, 57, living northeast of Story City, passed away at the home of her sister, Mrs. Oscar Larson, in Webster City, July 26th, following a paralytic stroke suffered the week before.

Nellie Nelson was born at Morris, Ill., January 31, 1864. Her parents were natives of Norway. She was one of ten children of whom six, four sisters and two brothers are still living. They are Miss Betsy Nelson and Mrs. Oscar Larson, Webster City; Mrs. Magnus Romsdahl, Minnesota; Dr. Mary Nelson-Hotchkiss, Minneapolis; and L. H. and R. J. Nelson of Randall. Three sisters, Mrs. Ida Risting [should be Emma Risting] and Mrs. T. P. Cassem of Odin, Minn., and Mrs. Jacob Weltha, Randall--are dead.

She was married January 27, 1891, to Carl Sparboe at Randall. To this union seven children were born. A son, Bennett, preceded his mother in death. The others, Miss Elvira, Carter, Anthony, Carl, William and Irving, all at home, survive her as does her husband and Selma Ristine [should be Risting], a niece, who has made her home with the Sparboe family since the death of her mother.

The Sparboe family are prominent and widely known in the vicinity in which they reside and they will have unstinted sympathy of a large circle of friends in the irreparable loss of a loving wife and mother.
