Tuesday, August 24, 1993Bernice Short, 77, Williams, died Aug. 23, 1993 at Hamilton County Public Hospital. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Bex officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until time of service.
Bernice Mattie Christenson, daughter of Morris and Mary (Slawson) Christenson, was born Nov. 28, 1915 in Webster City. She received her education in Webster City schools.
On March 1, 1934 she married Glenn L. Short in Webster City. She was a homemaker and the couple resided in Iowa, Illinois and Minnesota. Her husband died in November 1987. She returned to Iowa in July.
She is survived by daughters, Beverly Chalfant of Webster City, Joan Schnell of Minneapolis, Minn., Lorene "Pat" Campeau of Williams; son, Glen Short of Minneapolis; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, John F. Christenson of Kamrar, Larry D. Christenson of Brainard, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
She attended the Nazarene Church.
