John Forde was born in Fserde, Sondhordland, Norway, Nov. 19, 1877, and passed away at his home 2 1/2 miles east of Randall on May 19, 1925, of heart failure, at the age of 46 years and six months.

He came to America 31 years ago and settled at McCallsburg. Since that time he has lived in this neighborhood.

On Dec. 14, 1905, he was married to Julia Egemo. To this union eight children were born, who all live to mourn his loss, besides his wife. He also leave a step mother, three brother and two sisters all in Norway.

The children are: Thelmar, Joseph, Sophie, Violet, Jeffrey, Stella, Marjorie and Berven, the oldest 18 years and the youngest 2 years.

The funeral was held Friday, May 22 at the home at one p.m. and at 1:30 at the North St. Petri church, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud giving the sermon, and burial was made in the East cemetery [Mamrelund Cemetery.] "Be ready for we know not the hour nor the moment that the Lord will call us."
