Ole S. Olson

Ole S. Olson was born in Skaanebik's pastorate, Norway, March 25, 1871, and died on his farm 1 1/2 mile southeast of Randall, Iowa, Dec. 12, 1924, being at the time of his death 53 years and 9 months old.

In 1884 he came from Norway to Story City, Iowa. He worked in the vicinity of Randall, as a farm hand until 1909 when he bought his own farm. He was a hard worker and by diligence and faithfulness accumulated much wealth.

On Sept. 9, 1914, he was married to Miss Grine Erickson of Viker, Skaanevik. This union was blessed with five children, all of whom are living. Besides these he leaves to mourn his death three brothers, Knut of Kenyon, Minn., and two brothers in Norway, also a sister in Chicago.

For over a year his health had been failing and his ailment finally resulted in cancer. In the last weeks of his life he suffered severely, but bore his suffering quietly and patiently. He was especially strengthened to endure his suffering when he received light from on high and found peace with his God.

For many years he was a member of the North St. Petri Lutheran congregation where he will be greatly missed.

The funeral services were held at the Randall church Dec. 16 where G. O. Paulsrud officiated. A large audience was present to pay their last tribute.
