INGA SEVOLD

Inga Sevold was born at the old homestead three and one-half miles east of Randall, Iowa, September 12, 1876, and died at the same place, Feb. 18, 1923, her age being 46 years, 5 months.

She was confirmed by Rev. Svingen, Oct. 18, 1891. Of her life there is in one way little to be said as she has lived a quiet home loving life at the old homestead all the time. At the same time much could be said of her.

She has always been a faithful member of the church and has taken active part for years in the mission work of the church. But maybe the greatest work she had performed in the takin car of her aged mother and made a good home for her and her brother, who stays with them. In this respect she has been a faithful Ruth who gladly and willingly gave aid to her dear mother, who now will miss her more than anyone else.

We sometimes do not think so much of these kind deeds that are done, but in the sight of God they are counted great. Hers has been a life of kind deeds and service. As to her spiritual life we have to judge from her actions. Deeds speak louder than words. Christianity does not count on much in words as in deeds. Some years ago she confessed with tears and trembling that her sin was great and that she needed a Saviour more than at any time before. Now Jesus cannot pass by where a praying, longing soul dwells. He heard the prayers of the penitent and is ready to forgive. The Lord, only, knows the heart, we do not.

Then, when we are in Christ we can meet death, no matter how it comes, whether quickly or not.

She leaves to mourn her sudden departure a dear mother and two brothers and three sisters. They are: Mrs. Bertha Lande of Slater, Mrs. Hannah Hansen of Hubbard, Mrs. Julie Christenson of Rake, and Ole and Edward of Randall.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon, February 19, at 1:00 o'clock at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the church at Randall, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiating. The remains were laid to rest in East cemetery.
