Mrs. Percy (Vera) Lichtenberger, 85, longtime Webster City resident, died yesterday afternoon at the Tomkins Memorial Health Center at Fort Dodge where she had been residing since September. She had been in failing health for several years.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Paul D. Williamson and with burial to be made at Graceland cemetery at a later date.

Vera Davis, daughter of Henry J. and Emma Davis, was born April 15, 1895 at Dalton, Neb. Upon the death of her mother, when she was a three-month infant, she came with her father to Iowa. She was then reared by her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Davis, at Iowa Falls, where she received her education.

She was united in marriage Aug. 12, 1917 to Ira Percy Lichtenberger, and the couple made their home in Webster City. She was preceded in death by her husband Oct. 4, 1974. She resided here for awhile but for several years had lived at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C.M. (Vee) Woods of Pella, Iowa and Mrs. Brad (LaVonne) Osmundson, Webster City; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, George and by her parents.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist church, the Order of Eastern Star and the Gold Star Mothers.

The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials make them to a charity of their choice.
