James Worthen Sr., 69, Webster City, died Dec. 15, 1996 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald Ripley officiating. Burial will be at Northlawn Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and prior to the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.

James Robert Worthen Sr., son of Charles and Winny Worthen, was born March 28, 1927 in Vinton. He attended schools in Vinton. On May 8, 1948 he married Margaret Jean Hornung at the Open Bible Church in Iowa Falls.. He worked for Morton Frozen Foods and for the Maudlin Construction Company as a truck driver from the early 1960s until 1985. He retired in the late 1980s due to failing health.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; sons, Robert Worthen, Terry Worthen, James Worthen Jr., and Troy Worthen, all of Webster City; sister, Bernitta Irving, Buckingham; brother, John Good, Newhall; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald in 1983; brothers, Don Worthen, George Good, Charles Worthen; sister, Leata May Wescot; and one great-grandchild.
