OBITUARY

MRS. VERNE TEMPLER

Funeral services for Mrs. Verne O. Templer were held at Bethesda Lutheran church in Jewell, Aug. 4. Theo. Hoversten, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Harman, sang. The pallbearers were: Anthony Anfinson of Huxley, Victor Templer of Sioux City, Leslie Templer of Monroe, Walter Sowers and Edgar Templer of Jewell and Leonard Callison of Storm Lake.

Jane Louise Templer, daughter of Anfin and Lizabeth Anfinson, was born on a farm near Randall, March 7, 1889, and passed away at St. Mary's hospital, East St. Louis, Ill., July 31, 1951 at the age of 62 years, 4 months and 24 days.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Petri church in Story City and attended rural schools near her home. She was married in June, 1905, to Carl Kirkeby who passed away in September, 1921. To this union six children were born. She married Verne O. Templer March 21, 1928, and one child was born to this union.

Surviving her are her husband, Verne O. Templer of Collinsville, Ill., and seven children: Mrs. Leonard (Inez) Peterson and Mrs. Richard (Myrtle) Stangeland of Jewell; Verna Jean Templer of Collinsville, Ill.; Oliver A. Kirkeby of Altono, Ill.; John A. Kirkeby of Worthington, Minn.; Charles J. Kirkeby, U.S.N., Oxnard, Calif.; George H. Kirkeby of St. Paul, Minn., and eight grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Martin (Inger) Sorenson of Rochester, Minn., and four brothers, Henry of Diike, Sask., Canada, Oscar of Lake Crystal, Minn., Andrew of St. Paul, Minn. and Ben of Huxley. Her parents, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran church at Collinsville, Ill. She was also a member of the Navy Mothers club of Collinsville and of the Leighton Evatt No. 365 American Legion Auxiliary of Collinsville. She was president of the auxiliary at the time of her death.
