Mrs. Elsie M. Hinderks, 54, longtime Kamrar resident, died Friday evening at the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines. She had been a patient there the past two weeks, but had been in ill health the past two years.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. R. Craig Bennett officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Elsie Margaret Nelson, daughter of Nels and Christina Omvig Nelson, was born April 23, 1923 at Kanawha. She was reared and educated in the Kanawha area.

On Aug. 2, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clarence R. Hinderks and the couple lived in California where he was employed at the Douglas Aircraft Corp. They later returned to Kamrar, their home since.

Mr. Hinderks preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1974, and she continued to make her home at Kamrar.

She is survived by one daughter and three sons, Mrs. Keith (Marlyce) Kling, Osage; Ronald Hinderks of Osage, Lonney (Jacko) Hinderks of Hudson, Iowa, Richard Hinderks of Williams; eight grandchildren; four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. John (Agnes) Carlson, Grundy Center; Mrs. Donald (Sadie) Wickline, Webster City; Edith Evans, Kanawha; Mrs. Benny (Darlene) Smith, Clear Lake, Joe Nelson of Britt, Keith Nelson of Britt and Leonard Nelson of Kanawha.

Besides her husband she was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers.

She was a member of the Kamrar United Methodist church.
