Mrs. Ralph E. Woodruff, 53, a former resident of this city, died at 1:40 a.m., Thursday at her home in Des Moines. Though she had been in poor health for several years, her death was sudden, the cause being a cerebral hemorrhage.

Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff lived in Webster City from 1915 until 1929 when they moved to Des Moines.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. Manson E. Miller of Minneapolis, Minn., officiating. Interment will be in Graceland cemetery.

Sadie Letta (Dolly) Carpenter was the daughter of Joseph and Susan [Conroy] Carpenter, She was born August 6, 1892 on a farm in Wright county, near Woolstock, and was educated in that community.

Nov. 25, 1915 she was married to Ralph E. Woodruff of Webster City. The couple resided here until going to Des Moines to live in 1929.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Edward Larson and Mrs. Bruce Grimes, both of Des Moines; one son, Waldo E. Woodruff of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Bruce Ann Grimes and Carol Sue Grimes; two brothers, Howard Carpenter of Rowan and Ross Carpenter of Boone, and one sister, Miss Mabel Carpenter of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter and three sisters.

Mrs. Woodruff was a member of the University Church of Christ in Des Moines.
