William H. Meeks was one of the oldest residents of Webster City and vicinity, having been born, July 12, 1854 in Fairfield county, Ohio, and coming to Webster City with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Meeks, when he was four years old. He was therefore sixty-eighty years of age.
He was united in marriage September 16, 1875 to Miss Martha Emmeline Barr, also a daughter of pioneer settlers and to this union were born four children - three daughters and one son, all of whom, with their mother, survive. [his wife's obituary - Martha Barr Meeks - lists family member as Faust not Foust as his does so I included both spellings]
