Miss Etta Barr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marion Barr, was born in Hamilton county, Iowa, near Homer, Sept. 18, 1882.

She was one of two children, the other being Mrs. R.D. Kennedy, who died in 1914. Her father, Marion Barr passed away from this earth-life in 1924.

Miss Etta was the victim of infantile paralysis when she was yet a child and it left her so broken in body that she had been deprived of the advantages which are enjoyed by those in normal physical condition. She was, however, not without those qualities which made her much loved, for she was a sweet disposition. She wore a pleasant countence and had a smile for others. She was like Mary of whom Jesus said, "She hath done what she could."

The last few weeks of her life she developed a heart trouble which brought her relief from this earthly body and its cares, and she quietly passed away June 12, 1936 at Woodward. She was 53 years, 8 months and 24 days old.

In her death, she leaves her fond and loving mother, Mrs. Mattie Barr Vance, of Fort Dodge, besides many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in Webster City, at the Foster funeral home, conducted by the minister Manson E. Miller, Tuesday, June 16, 1936 and the body laid to rest in the Graceland cemetery.
