Willis G. (Scotty) Scott, 72, of rural Webster City, died Wednesday afternoon at the Hamilton County hospital where he had been a patient for one day.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Paul D. Williamson officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Willis Goodrich Scott, son of Guy M. and Eunice Goodrich Scott, was born Dec. 24, 1907 at Webster City. He was reared and educated at Webster City, and attended Webster City Junior College and also Iowa State college in Ames.

He was united in marriage May 28, 1942 to Bonita H. Decker at Princeton, Mo.

He was a pilot and flight instructor at Fort Dodge and Webster City, and served with the U.S. Air Corps as a civilian flight instructor at Fort Worth, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Scott was the first manager of the Webster City municipal airport and from the time of its development in 1944 he operated the airport until the early 1950's. He then operated his own aerial crop dusting service for many years, and began farming in 1956 northeast of Webster City, retiring in 1974 but continued to live on the farm.

He is survived by his wife; three sons and one daughter, Michael P. Scott of Granger, Iowa, Guy M. Scott, Vinton, Iowa, Mrs. Jerri A. Simpson of Des Moines and Blake L. Scott of Grand Island, Neb., and two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Helen) Mason of Rixeyville, Va.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist church; and Acacia Lodge 176, AF and AM.
