Melvin A. McCollough, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Hamilton County Public Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Raymond M. Roden and Rev. Leroy A. Miltner officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with a graveside flag-folding service conducted by American Legion Post 191 of Webster City. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 until 10 a.m. Monday.

Melvin Arnold McCollough, son of Ralph F. and Marie Pinkele McCollough, was born Sept. 1, 1917 in Webster City. He was educated in Webster City and from Feb. 1941 to Sept. 1954 he served in the U.S. Army with Company E, 133rd Infantry, Red Bull Division. He returned to Webster City and married Ethel Staley on March 23, 1946 in Webster City. The couple resided here where Mr. McCollough was employed in the Maintenance Department of Hamilton County from January 1953 until his retirement in 1985. Mrs. McCollough preceded him in death on Dec. 12, 1965.
