Dave Hansen, 75, of Webster City, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Southfield Wellness Community. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Foster Funeral & Cremation Center. Private family services will be held at a later date.

David Gene Hansen, the son of Arthur and Carol (Heedum) Hansen, was born January 9, 1948, in Yankton, SD. He graduated from Webster City High School. Dave was united in marriage to Edie Conover on May 11, 1974, in Webster City. He joined the Webster City Fire Department in 1970 and in 1973, joined the Webster City Police Department, retiring in 1996. During that time he obtained the rank of Sergeant, and was one of the first D.A.R.E. officers and was the head of Region 5 Narcotics Task Force. After retiring, he transported prisoners for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, drove the DART Bus, and drove truck for Habhab and Ingraham Construction. Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting, fixing boat motors and engines, tinkering, bird watching, trips to the casino and giving everyone a hard time.

He is survived by his wife, Edie of Webster City; son, JD Hansen of Mediapolis; daughter, Jill Hansen of Des Moines; brothers, Tim (Karen) Hansen of Kent, WA, Terry (Darlene) Hansen of Fort Dodge, Dr. Todd (Leslie) Hansen of Asheville, NC; several nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Foxey Lady.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Treasured Hearts Home Health Care of Webster City.
