Charles R. Hisler “Chuck” of Duncombe, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023. A visitation will be April 17th, at Saint Thomas Aquinas from 5-7. We will pray the Rosary at the end of the visitation. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 18th at Saint Thomas Aquinas in Webster City. Burial will be in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Duncombe with military rites provided by US Air Force Honor Guard and VFW Post 1856.

Charles Richard Hisler, the son of C.A. Jack and Vera Hisler (Schumacher), was born February 15, 1944 in Fort Dodge. He attended Webster City schools, graduating in 1962. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1964-1968, including a tour in Vietnam. Prior to a life changing accident on April 4, 1987 he was active with Legion Post 491 and Chief of the Duncombe Fire Department. He also worked with Farmland Industries and farmed with his father and father-in-law, selling Garst seed. On April 26, 1980 he married Joan Powers Hisler in Duncombe. Together they raised their combined families on their Duncombe acreage. Chuck was able to overcome many obstacles and was an inspiration to many.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife Joan, two daughters Carrie (Eric) Hisler, Jean (Monty) Kinseth, and two sons Chad (Jama) Hisler, Tom (Danielle) Rossow. Grandchildren Joey Falbo, Erika Rossow, Jack and Lauren Kinseth, and CJ and Keegan Hisler. Brothers Jim Hisler, Bob (Mary) Hisler, Sisters Lu (Jim) Barger, Kathy Jo (Kent) Stravers. Sister-In-Laws Della Hisler, Susan (Kevin) Moss. Brothers-in-Laws Tom (Cheryl) Powers and Pat Powers and several nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Vera, In-laws Pat and Cathryn Powers, brother Tom Hisler, and Granddaughter Jenna Falbo.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Duncombe Fire Department or American Legion Post 491
