Mrs. George (Rickie) Wepel, 72, longtime resident of the Webster City area, died Saturday morning where she had been a patient the past several days and in ill health the past eight years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Ursin officiating and with burial in the Cass Center cemetery.

Rickie Julie Ubben, daughter of Ben and Carrie Dunken [this is a typo-should be Honken] Ubben, was born Feb. 4, 1909 in Hamilton county. She was reared and educated in the rural schools near Kamrar. She married George Wepel on Oct. 13, 1934 at Webster City.

The couple farmed for many years in the Webster City area with the exception of three years when they farmed in Wright county.

Survivors include 10 brothers and sisters: Walter Ubben, Kamrar; Arend Ubben, Jewell; Mrs. Carl (Ricksta) Davis, Webster City; Mrs. Clarence (Carrie) Caruth, Jewell; Mrs. William (Bernice) McCollough, Webster City; Elsie Maples, Stanhope; Leonard Ubben, Webster City; Edward Ubben, Williams; Mrs. Charles (Minnie) Larson, Goodell and Melvin Ubben of Williams. Also surviving are three half-sisters, Mrs. Grace Isvik of Ellsworth, Mrs. Edmund (Katie) Seiser of Webster City and Mrs. Lena Welch [spelled Welsch in sibling's obit] of Boone; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971, by her parents and four brothers.
